I did a pretty good job of pouring some money into my investment portfolio at the bottom of the market. Those investments have done well as the market has rebounded from the 6 thousands back to the 10,000 level.
Lately, I made some more stock purchases when the market fell back below 10,000. Then the market raced up only to fall back again. I bought some more stock. Now today, the market lost almost 300 points and is well below 10,000 again.
Am I right to see this as another buying opportunity?
I suppose it matters if we are in a recovery or if Paul Krugman and other economists are right that we didn't have enough stimulus to put us over the top into full recovery.
I'm also wondering if I am making an error by not selling when the market was in the high 10,000's. I mainly buy index funds so my investments are tracking very closely to the overall market.
I keep thinking that the market will continue to rise and that is why I am not selling the highs.
Are you buying now that the market is under 10,000 again? Will you sell some stocks if the market goes to 11,000?
