I'm trying to figure out how I can save and invest more money each month. Today I discovered that I can save $20 by cutting my own hair.

Now, my hair is not a difficult cut. People who have longer hair or need certain styling might not be able to save money this way. However, for me, I usually just sit in a chair as someone uses a clippers on a certain setting to cut the hair off the sides and back of my head.

I was looking for a place to get my haircut. I wanted to spend under $20 and was hoping for something closer to $10. Unfortunately, the place I found that advertised a $10 haircut wasn't open.

A couple of years ago, my wife had bought a hair trimmer for about $15. We figured that it would be a good investment if she only cut my hair twice. She cut my hair twice and then we never used it again. The main problem was the hair going evrywhere and that it took a little while.

Since I still have the clippers, I decided to try cutting my own hair. I did it at my gym in a private bathroom. It worked pretty well. I figured out some things along the way so I know it wil be easier and quicker next time.

I didn't need to bother my wife with another chore to do. I didn't have to pay anyone any money. My hair looks like it always does after getting it cut - although the top is a little shorter since I buzzed that too instead of using a scissors.

I guess the point of this blog post is to share the idea that there are all sorts of ways we can save money each month. Now the trick is to save the extra money instead of spending it on something stupid.

I make my coffee at home each morning. I used to buy a cup of coffee at a shop near where I work, but those daily cups of coffee were adding up. I save close to $100 per month by making my coffee at home before I go to work.
