The Investment Ramifications Of Sustainable Energy

Our economy runs on fossil fuels.  Oil, coal and natural gas are crucial to powering our factories, our computers, our military, our cars, our homes, etc...  If there was any disruption in the supply of fossil fuels, our economy would be effected in major ways.

We see examples of this as the market responds to the price of oil and events in the Middle East.  We see this in the investments being made in natural gas.

We all know the market would respond poorly to a disruption in fossil fuels, but what would happen if there was a technology breakthrough in sustainable energy?

There have been a few promising developments lately in new energy technologies.  Any one of these potential breakthroughs has the power to completely transform our economy and the overall market outlook.

There is one technology called the BloomBox (or something like that) which allows each household to produce its own energy at half the current cost of electricity.  This would send home electronic stocks higher, but might crash coal stocks.

There are a ton of new developments in automobile battery technology.  If we get to a point where we no longer need oil for our vehicles, how would that affect the market?  Which stocks would go up and which stocks would go down.

There aren't many new frontiers left in our world.  Sustainable energy is one of them and it has the power to change our entire economy.

If we are invested in the market, we need to think about anything that might completely remake how we get the energy we need and how our country interacts with other energy producers.

The sustainable energy breakthroughs are coming.  Are you and your investment portfolio ready?
